Bacon Cheddar Smash Burger by Tinaseats

Juicy beef patties packed with crispy bacon and spicy cheddar, seared to a golden, caramelized finish.

Ingredients
- 900g (2 lbs) ground beef (7% fat)
- 150g (1/3 lbs) bacon, par-cooked and chopped
- 85g (3 oz) habanero jalapeño cheddar, diced
- 180ml (3/4 cup) italian bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp salt
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef, chopped par-cooked bacon, diced cheddar, bread crumbs, eggs, and salt in a large mixing bowl until ready to serve.
- Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat to ensure tenderness.
- Form the mixture into 6 equal-sized balls, handling them lightly until ready to serve.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until very hot.
- Place the beef balls onto the hot surface and smash them flat using a heavy spatula, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side until deeply browned and cooked through.
