Ingredients
- 3 cup blueberries
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup sugar (for the batter)
- 2 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 225g (2 sticks) margarine, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cup sugar (for the syrup)
- 1 cup warm water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.
- Spread the blueberries evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan and sprinkle with the lemon juice.
- Whisk together 1 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, melted margarine, vanilla, and milk in a medium bowl until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly over the blueberries.
- Stir the remaining 2 cups of sugar into the warm water until dissolved, then carefully pour this syrup over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit filling is bubbling.
