Deeply flavorful chocolate cake with a tender crumb, finished with a simple pour-over chocolate glaze.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 1/6 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray or cake pan with parchment paper.
- Bloom the cocoa powder by whisking it into the 1 cup of hot water until smooth.
- Stir in the white and brown sugars until fully combined.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the oil and vanilla essence.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour in the milk and mix gently until the batter is smooth and uniform.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
