Ingredients

  • 500g (1.1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté the onion in a pan over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the garlic, curry powder, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper; cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Remove the filling from heat and allow it to cool slightly before assembling.
  6. Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 4 squares; place a spoonful of beef mixture in the center of each.
  7. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle or rectangle, pressing the edges firmly with a fork to seal
  8. Brush the tops of the pies with the beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
