Ingredients

  • 450g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet, sautéing until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the uncooked rice and taco seasoning, coating the rice evenly for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth, stirring to combine all ingredients.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and fluff with a fork before serving.
