Ingredients

  • 450g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 700g (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 400g (14 oz) spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan, egg, half the garlic, and half the onion in a large bowl, mixing until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 12 equal-sized meatballs, roughly 2 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the meatballs for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, reduce heat to low, and simmer covered for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook spaghetti according to package directions, typically 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
  6. Drain the pasta and serve immediately topped with the meatballs and extra sauce
