Crispy, golden-fried chicken pieces seasoned with a savory spice blend and served hot.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) chicken pieces (drumsticks and thighs)
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 500 ml (2 cup) vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne in a large bowl or shallow dish.
  2. Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy crust.
  3. Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing firmly to coat evenly.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or heavy-bottomed pot to 175°C (350°F).
  5. Fry the chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the crust is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
  6. Drain the chicken on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving to maintain crispness.
