No-Fold Pan-Seared Dumplings by Tastingwiththomas
Savory pork and ginger filling seared until golden, finished with steamed wrappers in one pan.

Ingredients
- 250g (9 oz) ground pork
- 2 stalks green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 10-12 dumpling wrappers
- 3 tbsp water (for steaming)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (for searing)
Instructions
- Combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt in a bowl, mixing thoroughly by hand until well combined.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
- Spread the pork mixture into the pan in small, thin patties or a single layer, searing for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Drape the dumpling wrappers directly over the top of the seared meat patties.
- Add 3 tbsp of water to the pan and immediately cover with a tight-fitting lid.
- Steam for 5 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the pork is fully cooked through.
- Remove the lid and serve immediately, flipping onto a plate so the golden meat side faces up.
