Crispy air-fried chips and seasoned chicken tossed with stir-fried peppers, onions, and aromatic Chinese spices.

Ingredients

  • 600g maris piper potatoes, cut into chips
  • 300g chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 fresh chili, sliced
  • 40g cornflour
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chinese five spice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp msg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Rinse cut potato chips in cold water, dry thoroughly, coat with spray oil, and air fry at 200°C for 25 minutes, shaking regularly until golden.
  2. Season sliced chicken with salt, garlic powder, chili powder, five spice, and soy sauce, then coat in cornflour.
  3. Air fry the coated chicken at 240°C for 15 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy.
  4. Heat a wok over high heat and stir-fry the onion, peppers, chili, and garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Add the cooked chicken and chips to the wok, toss well to combine, and season with MSG and additional Chinese five spice before serving
