Serves: 8Prep: 15 minCook: 3 hr

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 16 oz cavatappi pasta
  • 48 oz spaghetti sauce (divided)
  • 24 oz water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 0.5 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes, season with salt and pepper, drain excess grease, and set aside.
  2. Whisk together cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta, garlic, and parsley in a medium bowl until smooth.
  3. Add half a jar of spaghetti sauce to the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
  4. Layer half of the dry cavatappi pasta over the sauce, followed by one full jar of spaghetti sauce and half of the water.
  5. Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the pasta layer.
  6. Dollop the cream cheese mixture evenly over the beef layer; do not stir.
  7. Layer the remaining dry pasta on top, followed by the last jar of spaghetti sauce, the remaining water, and the rest of the ground beef.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, checking for pasta tenderness at the 2-hour mark.
  9. Stir the mixture thoroughly once the pasta is al dente, then top with shredded mozzarella.
  10. Cover for 5 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted, then serve.
