Quick Lemon Garlic Butter Cod by Spiceitupwithnae

Pan-seared cod fillets served with a rich, savory sauce of melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon.

Ingredients

  • 2 cod fillets (6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add cod fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Remove fish from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tbsp of butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice, then pour the sauce over the cooked cod and garnish with fresh parsley.
