Thinly sliced beef marinated in savory-spicy gochujang, seared until caramelized and served over steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb trader joe's bulgogi beef
  • 3 tbsp gochujang (korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil
  • 2 cup cooked white rice (for serving)
  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and minced garlic to create the marinade until ready to serve.
  2. Add the bulgogi beef to the bowl and massage the marinade into the meat until evenly coated; let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the edges are crispy and the meat is cooked through.
  5. Serve immediately over a bed of warm white rice, topped with sliced green onions until ready to serve.
