Cream Cheese Oatmeal with Brûlée Bananas by Sirkoriey

Creamy cream cheese-infused oatmeal topped with caramelized bananas, fresh blueberries, crunchy almonds, and savory miso peanut butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cup water or milk
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 bananas, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp sugar (for brûléeing bananas)
  • 1/2 cup fresh wild blueberries
  • 1/4 cup almonds, toasted and chopped
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp white miso paste

Instructions

  1. Cook the oats in water or milk over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and oats are tender.
  2. Stir the softened cream cheese into the hot oatmeal until fully incorporated and creamy.
  3. Whisk the miso paste into the peanut butter until smooth and set aside.
  4. Place banana slices cut-side up on a heat-proof surface, sprinkle with sugar, and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden brown and bubbling.
  5. Divide the oatmeal into bowls, top with the brûléed bananas, blueberries, toasted almonds, and a drizzle of the miso peanut butter until ready to serve.
