Pizza Toast by Sidetoside Indakitchen
Crispy toasted bread topped with a savory tomato sauce, smoky bacon, corn, and melted Swiss cheese.

Ingredients
- 1 cup crushed tomato
- 1/4 onion, finely diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 5 leaves fresh basil, chopped
- 2 slices thick-cut bread
- 2 strips bacon, cooked and chopped
- 1/4 cup canned corn, drained
- 1/4 cup green pepper, diced
- 2 slices swiss cheese
Instructions
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic in a small pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add the crushed tomato, salt, and sugar to the pan, simmering for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in the fresh basil and remove the sauce from the heat until ready to serve.
- Toast the bread slices lightly in a toaster or oven for 2 minutes to provide a firm base.
- Spread the prepared tomato sauce onto each slice of bread until ready to serve.
- Top with the chopped bacon, corn, green pepper, and a slice of Swiss cheese until ready to serve.
- Broil or bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
