Ingredients
- 450g (1 lb) sirloin steak
- 2 tbsp butter (for steak)
- 1 ciabatta baguette
- 2 tbsp butter (for bread)
- 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp italian herb seasoning
- 2 russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt and pepper (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Toss the cut potato fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden and crispy.
- While fries bake, whisk together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, and a dash of salt in a small bowl to make the aioli.
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with 2 tablespoons of butter and sear the steak to your desired doneness, approximately 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly.
- Slice the ciabatta baguette, spread with 2 tablespoons of butter, and toast in a pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the sandwiches by spreading the garlic aioli on the toasted bread and layering with the sliced steak.
