French Onion Pasta by Shelbyaustinn
Caramelized onion pasta in a rich beef and Gruyère cream sauce with fresh rosemary aromatics.

Ingredients
- 3 yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 10 oz pasta of choice
- 3 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup gruyère cheese, grated
- 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deeply caramelized and golden brown.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
- Add the dry pasta directly to the skillet and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in the heavy cream and grated Gruyère, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Serve immediately while hot, topped with extra cheese if desired.
