Layered sushi cake featuring seasoned tuna, creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, and vinegared rice in a mold.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (10 oz total) canned tuna, drained
  • 2 cup cooked sushi rice, seasoned with rice vinegar
  • 2 large avocados, thinly sliced
  • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced into ribbons
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (optional)
  • 2 sheets nori, cut to fit mold
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Mix the drained tuna with mayonnaise and sriracha in a small bowl until well combined.
  2. Place a mold or a ring on a serving plate and add a layer of seasoned sushi rice, pressing down gently to compact until ready to serve.
  3. Add a layer of nori, followed by a layer of sliced cucumbers until ready to serve.
  4. Top the cucumber layer with the prepared spicy tuna mixture until ready to serve.
  5. Add a final layer of thinly sliced avocado on top until ready to serve.
  6. Carefully remove the mold and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving until ready to serve.
