Ingredients

  • 3.5 cup flour
  • 1.5 tbsp instant yeast
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup warm water (100°f)
  • 1 egg
  • 0.33 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt in a stand mixer bowl and mix well
  2. Add warm water, egg, and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough using a stand mixer until it pulls away from the bowl and passes the windowpane test (stretches thin without breaking).
  4. Place dough in a greased container, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes until doubled in size.
  5. Divide dough into 4 oz portions, shape into rounds, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Cover with a cloth and let rest for 20 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately after removing from the oven.
