Rich Pan Gravy From Drippings by Savory Experiments

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pan drippings (skimmed of excess fat)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-sodium broth or stock
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 2-3 minutes until the roux is fragrant and lightly browned.
- Gradually pour in the broth and pan drippings while whisking vigorously to avoid lumps.
- Continue to stir constantly over medium heat for 5-8 minutes until the gravy has thickened and reached a boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld, adjusting seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
