Steamed ground pork and napa cabbage layered in a savory broth for a deconstructed dumpling bowl.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 in ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 stalks green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 0.5 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp msg
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cup napa cabbage, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ginger, garlic, half of the green onions, soy sauce, mirin, white pepper, salt, sugar, MSG, and 1/4 cup chicken broth until well incorporated.
  2. Prepare ramekins by creating a base layer of chopped napa cabbage, followed by a layer of the pork mixture.
  3. Repeat the layering process until the ramekin is nearly full, ending with a final layer of pork mixture.
  4. Top the final layer with larger napa cabbage leaves to cover and add an additional tablespoon of chicken broth per ramekin.
  5. Steam the ramekins for 16-18 minutes until the pork is fully cooked through and opaque.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with the remaining fresh green onions and a drizzle of chili oil.
