Easy & Satisfying Tuna Melt by Runandeatwithjack
classic tuna melt made with simple ingredients for a deeply satisfying and cheap meal.

Ingredients
- 2 slices sandwich bread
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2-3 slices tomato
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 can tuna, drained
- 2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp pickles, chopped
- 1 tsp jalapenos, chopped
- 1 tsp chives, chopped
- 1 tsp dill, chopped
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 slices mature cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Butter the inside of two slices of sandwich bread.
- Layer tomato slices on one slice of bread and season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, combine drained tuna, red onion, pickles, jalapenos, chives, dill, chili flakes, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Mix well
- Scoop the tuna mixture onto the tomatoes and shape it into a slight trench.
- Place the cheese slices on top of the tuna mixture.
- Top with the other slice of bread, butter-side down.
- Melt butter in a pan over medium-low heat.
- Place the sandwich in the pan and toast slowly for about 5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
