Chocolate Toothpaste Tart by Reemaislam

Smooth, dense chocolate cream set in a crisp pastry shell with a unique, velvety texture.

Ingredients
- 115g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 150g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
- 50g (1/2 cup) hot chocolate powder
- 30g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
- 100g (1 cup) dried milk powder
- 120ml (1/2 cup) warm water
- 1 pre-made or homemade tart pastry shell (9-inch)
Instructions
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together in a mixer on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until pale and fluffy.
- Add the hot chocolate powder and cocoa powder to the butter mixture and beat on low speed until fully incorporated.
- Whisk the dried milk powder and warm water together in a separate bowl until smooth and dissolved.
- Pour the milk mixture into the chocolate butter mixture and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until a thick, smooth paste forms.
- Spread the chocolate paste evenly into the prepared pastry shell using a spatula.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours, or until the filling is firm and set, before slicing.
