Whipped Cream Cheese with Blistered Shishito Peppers by Petey Cooks

Blistered shishito peppers served over velvety whipped cream cheese with crispy bacon and spicy chili honey.

Ingredients

  • 225g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 200g (7 oz) shishito peppers
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, toasted
  • 1 tbsp calabrian chilis, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Whip the softened cream cheese in a bowl or food processor until light and airy, then spread it onto a serving platter.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat and sear the shishito peppers for 3-5 minutes until blistered and slightly charred.
  3. Whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, and chopped Calabrian chilis in a small bowl to create a spicy dressing
  4. Arrange the blistered peppers over the bed of whipped cream cheese
  5. Top with the crumbled crispy bacon and toasted breadcrumbs.
  6. Drizzle the spicy honey-balsamic mixture over the top before serving warm
