Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 1/4 tsp fast-rise yeast
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheese (for cheese loaf)
- 1 tbsp butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, warm water, honey, and yeast in a bowl; let rest for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Whisk in avocado oil, egg, and salt, then gradually add flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding small amounts of flour if sticky.
- Divide the dough in half; knead shredded cheese into one half, then place both portions into separate oiled bowls.
- Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 60-90 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape each piece into a tight loaf by rolling and pinching the seams, and place into greased loaf pans.
- Let the loaves rise in the pans until they reach the top edges, while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 28 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and brush the tops immediately with butter while still warm.
