Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 1/4 tsp fast-rise yeast
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (for cheese loaf)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, warm water, honey, and yeast in a bowl; let rest for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Whisk in avocado oil, egg, and salt, then gradually add flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding small amounts of flour if sticky.
  4. Divide the dough in half; knead shredded cheese into one half, then place both portions into separate oiled bowls.
  5. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 60-90 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape each piece into a tight loaf by rolling and pinching the seams, and place into greased loaf pans.
  7. Let the loaves rise in the pans until they reach the top edges, while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 28 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and brush the tops immediately with butter while still warm.
