Easy Honey Butter Skillet Bread by Peacelovedough

Soft skillet-baked bread brushed with a rich honey and melted butter glaze for a sweet finish.

Ingredients
- 0.75 cup warm milk
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp yeast
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 3 tbsp melted butter (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp honey (for glaze)
- 0.5 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Combine warm milk (105-110°F), 1 tbsp honey, and yeast in a bowl; let rest for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in 2 tbsp melted butter, salt, and flour until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-8 minutes until smooth, adding extra flour if sticky.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Butter a 10-inch cast iron skillet, transfer dough to it, and press out to the edges.
- Cover and let rise for 20-30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
- Score the top of the dough with a knife and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Whisk 3 tbsp melted butter with 2 tbsp honey; brush over the hot bread and sprinkle with flaky sea salt
