Potato and Ground Beef Pancakes by Ormandi

Crispy shredded potato pancakes filled with seasoned ground beef, served golden brown and tender.

Ingredients

  • 260g potatoes, finely grated
  • 110g ground beef
  • 30g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 small onion, finely grated or minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Grate the potatoes and the onion using a fine grater, then squeeze out excess liquid using a cheesecloth or your hands until ready to serve.
  2. Combine the grated potato, onion, ground beef, flour, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl, mixing until well incorporated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot pan and flatten slightly to form pancakes until ready to serve.
  5. Fry for 5-6 minutes per side over medium heat until the beef is cooked through and the edges are crispy and golden brown.
