Ingredients
- 450g (1 lb) ground beef
- 450g (1 lb) ground italian turkey sausage
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 950ml (4 cup) beef broth
- 450g (16 oz) spaghetti noodles
- 1 packet lipton onion soup mix
- 1 tsp nature’s seasoning
- 2 tsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and turkey sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
- Add the diced onion and bell peppers to the pot and sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the garlic paste and tomato paste, cooking for 2–3 minutes to remove the raw tomato bitterness.
- Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture, stirring well for 1–2 minutes to coat and cook out the flour taste.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to create a smooth, thickened sauce base.
- Add the Lipton onion soup mix, Nature’s seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and Italian seasoning; stir to combine.
- Boil a separate pot of salted water and cook spaghetti for 10–12 minutes until al dente.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the noodles.
- Add the cooked spaghetti into the meat sauce, tossing thoroughly to coat.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water as needed to emulsify the sauce into a silky consistency and finish with chopped parsley.
