Ingredients

  • 450g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 450g (1 lb) ground italian turkey sausage
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 950ml (4 cup) beef broth
  • 450g (16 oz) spaghetti noodles
  • 1 packet lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp nature’s seasoning
  • 2 tsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and turkey sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell peppers to the pot and sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the garlic paste and tomato paste, cooking for 2–3 minutes to remove the raw tomato bitterness.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture, stirring well for 1–2 minutes to coat and cook out the flour taste.
  5. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to create a smooth, thickened sauce base.
  6. Add the Lipton onion soup mix, Nature’s seasoning, Cajun seasoning, and Italian seasoning; stir to combine.
  7. Boil a separate pot of salted water and cook spaghetti for 10–12 minutes until al dente.
  8. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the noodles.
  9. Add the cooked spaghetti into the meat sauce, tossing thoroughly to coat.
  10. Pour in the reserved pasta water as needed to emulsify the sauce into a silky consistency and finish with chopped parsley.
