Farmer's Skillet by Ondrovahudebni

Hearty pan-seared potatoes with caramelized onions, crisp bacon, tender cabbage, and sweet red bell peppers.

Ingredients

  • 1200 g potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 200 g bacon, chopped
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 0.5 head of white cabbage, shredded
  • 2 red bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the bacon until crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the cubed potatoes to the skillet and sauté for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and tender.
  3. Add the diced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in the shredded cabbage and sliced red bell peppers, cooking for an additional 6-8 minutes until the vegetables are softened but still retain some texture.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving hot until ready to serve.
