Shabu-Inspired Beef Rice Bowls by Nourishmentnutrition
Thinly sliced, tender beef simmered in a savory soy-mirin glaze served over fluffy steamed rice.

Ingredients
- 2 cup cooked short-grain white rice
- 250g (9 oz) thinly sliced beef (shabu-shabu or ribeye)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and grated ginger in a small bowl to create the sauce over medium heat until heated through, about 5 min.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until just browned.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly and coats the meat.
- Divide the cooked rice into two bowls until ready to serve.
- Top the rice with the glazed beef and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving until ready to serve.
