Spiced Salmon with Mango Salsa by Nourishbydanelle

Pan-seared salmon fillets with a smoky-sweet spice rub, topped with a vibrant, zesty mango salsa.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl to create the spice rub until ready to serve.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and coat evenly with the spice rub on all sides until ready to serve.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes until shimmering.
  4. Place salmon in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until the edges are crispy and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Prepare the salsa while the salmon cooks by tossing together the diced mango, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice in a medium bowl until ready to serve.
  6. Serve the warm salmon immediately topped with a generous spoonful of the fresh mango salsa until ready to serve.
