Crispy savory fritters featuring fresh watercress, aromatic garlic, and onion, served as a classic snack.

Ingredients

  • 400 g watercress, finely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 150 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 250 ml vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped watercress, diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and diced onion in a large mixing bowl until ready to serve.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the vegetable mixture, stirring until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the water while stirring to form a thick, cohesive batter until ready to serve.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the fritters and drain on paper towels for 2 minutes before serving warm.
