- 450g (1 lb) ground beef
- 2 large shallots, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 400g (14 oz) fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 120ml (1/2 cup) heavy cream
- 150g (1.5 cup) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 150g (1.5 cup) white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 100g (1 cup) smoked cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add the diced shallots and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in the onion powder, paprika, seasoning salt, and red pepper flakes, cooking for 1 minute to bloom the spices.
- Pour in the fire-roasted tomatoes with their juices and simmer for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until combined, about 2 minutes.
- Fold in the shredded sharp, white, and smoked cheddar cheeses, stirring constantly for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is smooth and melted.
