Kunafa Dates by Mygourmetstory
Sweet Medjool dates filled with cheese, wrapped in kataifi, and baked until golden with honey and pistachios.

Ingredients
- 7-8 pitted medjool dates
- 7-8 small mozzarella sticks or akawi cheese
- 1 cup shredded kataifi or shredded phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup crushed pistachios
- 1/2 cup melted ghee
- 1 tbsp honey, for drizzling
- 1 tsp rose water (optional)
Instructions
- Remove pits from dates and fill each with a mozzarella stick or akawi cheese.
- In a bowl, toss shredded kataifi with melted ghee until well coated.
- Wrap the ghee-coated kataifi around each filled date.
- Arrange the wrapped dates in a baking tray lined with ghee.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-11 minutes, or until the kataifi is golden brown.
- Flip the dates halfway through baking if needed for even browning.
- Drizzle generously with honey and sprinkle with crushed pistachios before serving hot.
