Hot Honey Garlic Shrimp by Mydarr

Sticky, buttery shrimp with sweet heat, seared crisp and tossed in a glossy garlic sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined, patted very dry
- 2 to 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 3 tbsp hot honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 to 2 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 cups steamed rice, for serving
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for serving
- 2 tbsp sliced green onions, for serving
Instructions
- Toss the shrimp with cornstarch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until lightly and evenly coated, about 1 minute.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, then add the shrimp in a single layer and sear for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and just cooked through.
- Transfer the shrimp to a plate, lower the heat to medium, and melt the butter in the same pan for about 30 seconds.
- Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.
- Stir in the hot honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, then simmer for 30 to 60 seconds until the sauce looks glossy and slightly thickened.
- Return the shrimp to the pan and toss for 30 to 60 seconds until fully coated and sticky, then remove from the heat.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice and finish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
