Charred Pineapple and Chile Piquin Salsa by Munchieslabs

Smoky charred pineapple and creamy avocado balanced with spicy chile piquin and bright citrus notes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup fresh pineapple, sliced into rings
  • 1 lime, halved
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp chili piquin, crushed
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place pineapple rings and lime halves cut-side down on a hot grill over medium-high heat.
  2. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side until the pineapple is charred and caramelized and the lime is browned.
  3. Remove from heat and allow the pineapple to cool slightly for 5 minutes before dicing into small cubes.
  4. Squeeze the juice from the charred lime into a medium mixing bowl.
  5. Add the diced pineapple, red onion, crushed chile piquin, and salt to the bowl, tossing gently to combine.
  6. Fold in the diced avocado just before serving to maintain its texture.
