Apple Rose Puff Pastry by Maykawaiikitchen

Delicate layers of golden puff pastry wrapped around tender, cinnamon-dusted apple slices in a floral shape.

Serves: 6Prep: 20 minCook: 30 min

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam, warmed (optional for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Core the apples, slice them into very thin half-moons, and toss with lemon juice in a microwave-safe bowl over medium heat until heated through, about 5 min.
  3. Microwave apple slices for 2-3 minutes until soft and pliable enough to roll without breaking.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly and cut into 6 long strips until ready to serve.
  5. Sprinkle each strip with sugar and cinnamon, then arrange apple slices along the top edge of the pastry so they overlap slightly until ready to serve.
  6. Fold the bottom half of the pastry over the apple slices, then carefully roll into a rose shape over medium heat until heated through, about 5 min.
  7. Place each rose into the prepared muffin tin and bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
