Homemade Fish Tacos by Matmackan

Crisp corn tortillas filled with fresh fish, zesty green apple, and spicy jalapeno for vibrant flavor.

Ingredients
- 100g masa harina (corn flour)
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.5 tbsp olive or corn oil
- 140 ml hot water (75°c/165°f)
- 400g white fish fillets, cut into strips
- 1 green apple, julienned
- 1 jalapeno, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix masa harina and salt in a bowl, then stir in oil and hot water until a soft, non-sticky dough forms.
- Divide dough into 8-10 small balls and press each into a thin tortilla using a press or flat heavy object.
- Cook tortillas on a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side until lightly charred and cooked through, then keep warm.
- Season fish strips with salt and sear in a pan with oil over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until opaque and flaky.
- Toss julienned apple and sliced jalapeno with lime juice to create a fresh slaw
- Assemble tacos by placing fish on warm tortillas and topping with the apple-jalapeno mixture.
