Hearty ground beef simmered with aromatic spices, diced tomatoes, and tender kidney beans in a sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500g (1.1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 400g (14 oz) canned diced tomatoes
  • 400g (14 oz) canned kidney beans, drained
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat and add the ground beef, browning for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  2. Add the diced onion to the pot and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and chili powder, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the canned tomatoes and kidney beans, season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld and the sauce thickens.
