Crispy, golden-fried funnel cake ribbons dusted with a generous coating of sweet powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup pancake mix
  • 1 1/2 cup water (adjust for desired pourable consistency)
  • 4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the pancake mix and water in a medium bowl until the batter is smooth and free of large lumps.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle or a piping bag with a small opening until ready to serve.
  4. Drizzle the batter into the hot oil in a circular, overlapping motion to form a web-like pattern until ready to serve.
  5. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side until the funnel cake is deep golden brown.
  6. Remove with tongs or a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels for 1 minute.
  7. Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm and serve immediately until ready to serve.
