Golden Mini Soft Pretzels by Madison Eats

Buttery, golden-brown mini pretzels with a soft, chewy interior and a classic salty finish.

Ingredients
- 300g (2.5 cup) all-purpose flour
- 175ml (3/4 cup) warm water
- 1.5 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cup water (for baking soda bath)
- 1/4 cup baking soda (for baking soda bath)
- 1 tbsp coarse sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in flour, melted butter, and salt; knead for 5-7 minutes until a smooth, elastic dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 60 minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide dough into small, equal pieces, roll each into a rope, and twist into mini pretzel shapes until ready to serve.
- Bring 4 cups of water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot over medium heat until heated through, about 5 min.
- Drop pretzels into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on the baking sheet until ready to serve.
- Sprinkle generously with coarse sea salt and bake for 10-12 minutes until deep golden brown.
