Apple Cinnamon Roll Casserole by Lovevivv

Buttery spiced apples baked over pillowy cinnamon roll pieces with cream and icing.

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar (or granulated sugar)
  • 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 1–2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing packet
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for greasing pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and generously butter an 11-inch baking pan.
  2. Cut each cinnamon roll into bite-size pieces and spread them evenly across the prepared pan.
  3. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp butter, then add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and diced apple. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6–8 minutes until apples are tender and golden.
  4. Strain the syrup from the apples and set both aside separately; let the apples cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Scatter the cooked apples evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the pan.
  6. Pour the heavy cream over the entire pan, then drizzle the reserved apple syrup on top.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes, checking at 30 minutes, until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from oven and drizzle the included icing packet over the top while still warm. Serve immediately.
