10-Minute Quick Congee by Lillychilioil
Comforting, velvety rice porridge base prepared quickly from frozen or leftover cooked rice.

Ingredients
- 200g (1 cup) frozen cooked rice or uncooked washed rice
- 1 l (4 cup) water (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1/2 tsp salt (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Bring 1 liter of water to a rolling boil in a medium pot over high heat.
- Add the frozen or leftover rice to the boiling water, breaking up any large clumps with a spoon.
- Reduce heat to medium-high and cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Continue cooking until the rice grains bloom and the mixture reaches a creamy, porridge-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in desired toppings before serving.
