Orange Cardamom Cinnamon Rolls by Lemonblossomsblog
Fluffy, buttery sweet rolls filled with aromatic cinnamon and cardamom, finished with tangy orange cream cheese icing.

Ingredients
- 4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
- 1 tsp ground cardamom (for filling)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Whisk in warm milk, melted butter, and eggs until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic, then let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 even slices.
- Place rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest until smooth, then spread over warm rolls.
