Serves: 12Prep: 15 minCook: 2 hr 45 min

Ingredients

  • 8 lb spiral ham
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a roasting pan with foil.
  2. Place ham cut-side down on a rack inside the pan.
  3. Whisk together melted butter and honey, then brush the mixture all over the ham, ensuring it gets between the slices
  4. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the pan, cover tightly with foil, and bake for approximately 2.5 hours (20 minutes per pound) until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  5. Remove foil, pat half of the spice mix over the exterior of the ham, and broil for 3-5 minutes until the surface is caramelized.
  6. In a small saucepan, simmer the remaining spice mix with 1/3 cup of pan juices or water until the mixture is thick and glossy.
  7. Brush the glaze over the ham and broil for another 2-3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Rest the ham for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
