Serves: 6Prep: 45 minCook: 20 min
Ingredients
- 1 box confetti cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)
- 1 can pre-made vanilla or white frosting/cream
- 1/2 cup assorted sprinkles (various colors and shapes)
- Black sprinkles or nonpareils for leopard print spots
- Round sprinkles or dots for dot pattern
- Parchment paper (for lining pans)
Instructions
- Prepare confetti cake batter according to box directions and bake in a muffin or small round cake pan at 350°F (175°C) for 18–20 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely, then place them in the freezer for 20–30 minutes until firm — this makes decorating much easier.
- Remove cakes from freezer and apply a smooth, even layer of pre-made cream/frosting over the top and sides of each cake.
- Working in small sections, scoop sprinkles and gently press them into the frosting by hand to begin building your design.
- For the leopard print pattern, use tweezers to carefully place individual black and colored sprinkles in a leopard spot arrangement, working in layers to build depth and accuracy.
- Continue placing sprinkles until the entire surface is covered with your desired design. Chill briefly if the frosting softens during decorating.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat.
