Steamed chicken and yam blended into a smooth, nutrient-dense puree for early childhood development.

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 medium yam or sweet potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup water, breast milk, or formula (for blending)

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the yam into 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
  2. Place the chicken breast and cubed yam into a steamer basket over boiling water.
  3. Steam for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the yam is fork-tender.
  4. Transfer the steamed chicken and yam to a blender or food processor.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of your chosen liquid (water, breast milk, or formula) and blend until a smooth, thin consistency is reached.
  6. Add more liquid one tablespoon at a time if a thinner consistency is desired.
