Cantonese Style Steamed Cod by Khinskitchen
Delicate steamed cod fillet topped with aromatic ginger and green onions in a savory soy glaze.

Ingredients
- 450g (1 lb) cod fillet
- 25g (1 oz) ginger, julienned
- 3 stalks green onions, julienned
- 3 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Pat the cod fillet dry and place it on a heat-proof plate
- Scatter half of the julienned ginger and green onions over the fish
- Steam the fish in a steamer basket over boiling water for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove the plate from the steamer and carefully discard the excess liquid accumulated on the plate
- Top the steamed fish with the remaining fresh ginger and green onions
- Whisk together the soy sauce, water, and sugar in a small bowl and pour it over the fish
- Heat the vegetable oil in a small pan until smoking hot, then carefully pour the hot oil over the aromatics on the fish to release their fragrance.
