Creamy Chicken Tikka Masala by Keyanskitchen
Tender seared chicken simmered in a spiced tomato-cream sauce with aromatic ginger and garlic.

Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp chicken bouillon
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1 head garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 14 oz heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp kasoori methi (optional)
Instructions
- Mix chicken, yogurt, oil, and half of the spices (garam masala, bouillon, coriander, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, salt) in a bowl; marinate for 30 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat with a splash of oil and sear chicken pieces until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes; remove from pan and set aside.
- Add chopped onions to the same pan and cook over medium heat until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced ginger and garlic, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the remaining spices (garam masala, chili powder, turmeric, onion powder, garlic powder) and toast for 30 seconds.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, stir well, and simmer gently on low for 30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in heavy cream and butter, then return the seared chicken to the pan; simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and optional kasoori methi before serving.
