Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
  • 2 tbsp sliced green onions, for serving
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, beef broth, cornstarch, and water in a small bowl until smooth, about 1 minute.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 1 minute, then sear the beef in a single layer for 2 to 3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove it to a plate.
  3. Add the remaining oil, broccoli, garlic, and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the broccoli turns bright green and crisp-tender.
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring, until it thickens and looks glossy.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and toss for 1 to 2 minutes until the meat is cooked through and coated in sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice or cauliflower rice, then finish with green onions and sesame seeds.
