Better Than Takeout Beef and Broccoli by Kayla Nasara

Tender marinated sirloin seared with crisp broccoli florets in a savory, rich oyster and soy sauce.

Ingredients
- 1.5 lb sirloin
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp sake
- 4 tbsp oyster sauce
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp corn starch
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/3 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 2 cup broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Thinly slice the sirloin against the grain. Combine beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp sake, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, baking soda, 1 tsp corn starch, and pepper. Marinate for 20 minutes.
- Whisk together beef broth, remaining soy sauce, remaining sake, remaining oyster sauce, sugar, and 1 tsp corn starch in a small bowl
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Blanch broccoli for 1 minute, then drain and set aside.
- Heat a wok over high heat with 1 tbsp oil. Sear beef in batches until browned, then remove from the wok.
- Add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger to the wok. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef and broccoli to the wok. Pour in the sauce mixture and toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
- Serve immediately over white rice.
